Professional Sobriety Coaching

Bruce Cameron is a nationally sought-after Certified Life Coach who specializes in addiction and compulsive behavior. His 23-year career with the United States Justice Department, of which he retired in 2013, truly sets him apart in this field.  He is perhaps the only Sober/Recovery Coach with this unique background and training. Bruce maintains a private practice offering close management coaching of executives, celebrities, and high net-worth individuals.

This is nothing we like to hear, but the fact is Alcohol, Drug Use Disorders, and Disruptive Sexual Behavior will cost employers, studios, etc. unimaginable revenues due to lost time, lost productivity, accidents, and higher insurance premiums. Sober/Recovery coaching can save companies huge resources by allowing the employee to begin rehabilitative change as soon as possible.

While the primary focus is on wellness, another focal point is access.  Bruce helps the client move forward with life and helps prevent relapse by remaining available in a variety of capacities.  This access is paramount in assisting in everyday life and pushing through all obstacles.  He facilitates the development of active support networks, and growth in family, and personal and professional relationships.  He facilitates change and results.

Sober Coaching: Bruce’s Approach

Most experienced coaches charge a minimum of $1000 a day for their services. Fees for the most prestigious sober coaches (and the most demanding clients) can top $80,000 a month. In return, the sober coach may accompany their clients anywhere—to parties, work functions, business trips, or just through a typical day, encouraging them in their sobriety and helping them stay clean in a world filled with temptation.

Bruce’s primary duty is to build trust and help his clients normalize the basics of living an intoxicant-free life. Celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey Jr., Owen Wilson, and Matthew Perry have all employed sober companions, usually at the insistence of Hollywood studios that cannot afford to have an unsafe set, etc.  In recent years, sober coaches have begun working with a more diverse client base.

Sober Coaching assists with:

  • Assistance with integration into society
  • Appropriate referrals to physicians, doctors, therapists and other clinicians
  • Meeting attendance and supervision
  • Daily phone support
  • Daily schedule design and maintenance
  • Medication management & compliance
  • Developing, prioritizing, and achievement of short and long-term goals
  • Court or legal appearance transportation & support (if appropriate)

Recovery Coaching-

Recovery Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps clients, who are currently in recovery or who are considering recovery from addiction, to produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses, or organizations —while advancing their recovery from addiction.

The Recovery Coaching process recognizes that results are a matter of the client’s intentions, choices, and actions taken toward building a strong foundation and creating a life worth staying healthy for, supported by the coach’s efforts and application of the coaching process.

As a Recovery Coach, Bruce affirms that there is innate health and wellness in each of his clients. As a Recovery Coach, he does not promote or endorse any single or particular way of achieving or maintaining sobriety, abstinence, or serenity or of reducing suffering from addiction. Bruce focuses on coaching clients to create and sustain great and meaningful lives.

Sometimes the client does not always want to stay sober, which does not preclude professional involvement. Bruce will work with anyone who is in the process of figuring out whether or not they want to stay sober or not. This contrasts with AA, where the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking; with a sober companion, desire is not a necessity.

It is not easy for anyone to ask for help.  Sober/Recovery Coaching provides assistance whether in business, school or other areas by helping to identify and achieve personal goals and maintain wellness.  The goal is a solid lasting recovery through proper guidance and support on the journey.  The goal is you, your company, your employees, your family, your friends….your life.

Bruce’s base of operation are in Dallas/Fort Worth and can be reached via email at  Lifexecoaches@gmail.com .
